الملخص EN

Man has been created and supported by the adjustment and adaptation capabilities in | • his life.

These capabilities make each person able to adjust with his environments data, therefore, we find that the behavior of man is formed according to the social situations > subjecting to everywhere he is.

Family give the aid to the child in such different situations either as a practical > behavior to practice him at the accept social behavior or as direct instruction ways and | teaching him the different social criteria and roles.

> Stemming from above, we show the important role of the family in defining the I child’s behavior and personality trails such as Aggression, Stubbornness, Reliance, and | Independence.

The parental attitudes play the main role in the process of social * normalization showing the mutual relationship between parents and children that have I the great role in the psychological development of the child.

> If there was a familial atmosphere full of love, acceptance and reassurance, the child | will grow best and will be able to adjust himself and the society living in it and vice versa.

Not the familial relations have the main role in shaping the persons’ behavior and < adjustment but, also the process of moving the child from the family environment to j school one forcing him to hold the responsibility, depending on the self, and working \ with peers and colleagues and teachers cooperatively.

I • the aims of the research: I The present research aims at the following: ' first: measuring the parental attitudes and the adjustment of the sample consisting the J following steps: measuring the attitudes of fathers towards their children (males and female) f measuring the attitudes of mothers towards their children (males and females).

, Measuring the adjustment of students (the sample) (males and female) « Second : making a comparison between males and females in both of parental attitudes ' and behavioral adjustment depending on gender variable (males and female) J consisting the following steps: ( making a comparison between fathers and mothers attitudes towards their children (the < sample) in the classes of special education.

I Making a comparison between parents attitudes depending on gender variable (males , | and females) i ' Making a comparison between mothers attitudes depending on gender variable (males ' and females) j I Making a comparison between behavioral adjustment depending on gender variable | (males and females) I Third : finding out the relationship between partial attitudes and behavioral adjustment I of the students (males and females) classes consisting of the following steps: I finding out the relationship between fathers attitudes and behavioral adjustment of the I .

' Fourth: making the relationship comparison between parental attitudes and behavioral j adjustment of the males and females consisting of the following steps: ’ Making a comparison between correlation factor of the parents attitudes and behavioral | adjustment of the males and correlation factor of the partial attitudes and behavioral " adjustment of the females.

Research tool: < • The researchers built two measure, the first for the parental attitudes, consisting of I (50)items for the father’s picture and (46) item for the mother’s one.

< • The second for the behavioral adjustment, consisting of (41) items.

j The sample of the research: the sample has been chosen from the students of special" education ,in the primary school in Baghdad city consisting of (120) male and female , students, the following statistical methods have been used in the present research: the | t-test for two independent samples to make a comparison between the two different < groups and then to have a characterized items, Pearson correlation factor to calculate the validity by half segregation method; Spearman -Brown equation to correct the , validity; Z-test to know the differences signification in the correlation factors | between the two sample; and depending on the statistical fact to gain alpha -Crown " Bach factor for validity and analyzing the difference.

' The results of the first aim (measuring the attitudes of parents towards their children j in the special education classes).

< Showed that the parental attitudes are positive highly, where the results of measuring fi the behavioral adjustment of the students of special education classes showed that they , characterized by maladjustment.

| As for the result of the second aim (making a comparison between the attitudes of •! parents towards their children (the whole sample) showed that there aren’t any statistical * significant odds in the attitudes of parents.

While making a comparison between the I attitudes of parents depending on gender variable, it had been shown that their attitudes , towards the males are more positive than females significantly .

the results of the t comparison of the behavioral adjustment between males and females had been shown , that there aren’t any statistical significant odds at the level 5%.

\ The third aim (making a comparison between the attitudes of parents depending on ' class, the results showed that there aren’t any statistical significant odds, and the results | of the comparison of behavioral adjustment between males and females had been shown < that the odds weren’t statistically significant.

I The results of the fourth aim showed that the relationship between the attitudes of, parents and behavioral adjustment of the whole sample, statistically significant at the ( level 5%, and the relationship between the attitudes of parents and behavioral' I adjustment of the males was statistically significant.

As for the relationship between r mother’s attitudes and behavioral adjustment of the whole sample, the results weren’t' statistically significant.

The results of the relationship between mothers’ attitudes and, I the adjustment of their children (males and females) weren’t statistically significant.

I And the results of the comparison between the correlation factor of the mothers’ ' | attitudes and behavioral adjustment of their children (males and females) showed that | they weren’t statistically significant.

• Recommendations 1.

emphasis on extra-curricular activities artistic, social, recreational and engage the f special education classes pupils with the students in regular classes to help them on behavioral i compatibility.

' 2.

mainstream the educational guidance at the primary level for guiding the parents of pupils of special education classes and the teachers of the special education | classes about the correct educational methods.

• Suggestions I 1.conducting a similar study of the behavioral adjustment for (slow learners) students , depending on the mothers and fathers estimates on the scale and compared the results i of the current study.

I 2.

Conduct a comparative study in behavioral compatibility between the special education students whose they live with their parents and their orphans counterparts.
