It is known that a large number of Arab countries have programs and activities in nuclear fields, but most often do not go beyond the front of the nuclear fuel cycle and applications of radioisotopes in medicine, animal production and irradiation of some foodstuff.

This article focuses on the importance of nuclear programs in producing desalinated water and electric energy to Arab countries.

The problem of water demands is one of the most important topics that must be put by the Arab countries in their priorities; hence its scarcity can threaten their development projects.

Moreover, the population growth rate in this region ranges from 2.4% to 3.3%, which illustrates the importance of increasing water resources to cope with the rapid increase in the population.

It is noteworthy to say that the electric energy produced from nuclear power plants can help in increasing the production of electricity, in addition to the other energy resources.

This helps in the performance of the sustainable development projects in Arab countries.
