School leaders face enormous budgetary pressures, teachers' problems, student problems and other educational problems, which require that these leaders understand these problems and challenges in order to meet the needs of the external community and achieve its aspirations and expectations.

This is why our educational institutions, including public secondary schools, need a certain quality of leaders with the skills and competencies of emotional intelligence that will enable them to find innovative and unfamiliar solutions to many of the problems facing these institutions, which will enable them to improve their leadership in many areas.

This research will focus on the importance of emotional intelligence in the development of the performance of the general secondary school principals in Egypt in three areas of leadership: community leadership, leadership of social justice and moral leadership, which helps to achieve the quality of educational outputs.

The current research aims to identify the intellectual bases of emotional intelligence and its most prominent models and its relation to improving the leadership performance of school principals, in addition to the current reality of the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Education to improve the performance of the high school leaders in Egypt.

In order to achieve the above objectives, the research was based on the descriptive approach in addition to the use of Delphi method, which was applied to three rounds on a sample of 27 academic and educational experts.

The research reached a set of results, most notably that emotional intelligence skills increase the ability of the school principal To achieve social justice and job satisfaction among teachers, and it makes him more understanding of the feelings of others and thus easy to influence them, In addition, the skills of public relations help to create opportunities for successful community partnership, and the skill of social awareness enables him to establish successful relationships with parents.

The results also revealed the lack of training programs in providing managers with emotional intelligence skills.
