The eighth century AH / fourth century AD witnessed spacious progress and large maturity in thought and literature.

In this era, a range of the great authors, thinkers, poets, historians has appeared and from among this huge crowd is Ibn Al Khatib who is considered the largest writer produced by Andalusia in its recent eras.

The sources and resources of Ibn Al Khatib for recording history multiplied and varied including the direct sources which representing in transferring the news alive by participating in the event, watching it or knowing its effects, the matter which is called the observation and contemporary as the historiography of the events of era in which the historian live enable him to depict them with natural colors.

The opportunity was ripen for Ibn Al Khatib where he was his witness of his era in a lot of events which were recorded by him from reality of what he saw, from reality of what he participated and was contemporaneous with.

In the translation of Sultan Mohammed V "The rich by help of Allah" for whom Ibn Al Khatib assumed the position of writing then the ministry, Ibn Al Khatib observed through this translation many events suffered by the State Nasrid, and the translation is filled with the political documents and royal decrees.

Also, Ibn Al Khatib translated to whom he was contemporaneous with of his Skeikhs where he gives praises to them and clarifies their qualities and he also traces the places, and identifies their directions in his historical writings such as his mentioning of graves and gardens
