Writers of the modern and contemporary novel markedly tend to mention all the details relative to the neighbourings of thenarrative material and the development and evolution of its events, in addition, to the description of the places, times and characters who are in close relation with the narrative event.

Novelists found in that a way to satiate the reader's curiosity and to increase his willingness to follow the act of reading, to attract him to the events of the narrative text, and to make him interact with it and merge into its atmosphere.

In his novel "The Doll of Fire," the novelist Bashir Mufti did not deviate from this approach to the modern novel, as he went on mentioning the details presenting a vivid description and illustrative images of fiction, characters and places.

This made his speech derive its rhetoric and aesthetics not only from the language, but also from the details.

This article attempts to portray all these aspects, and highlight the role of the narrative functions of the all the details mentioned by the novelist in the evolution of the novel’s events and its text texture.
