دراسة نسبة نجاح تطعيم ثلاثة أصناف عنب محلية على أربعة أصول

This study was conducted for two successive seasons 2010 and 2011 in the vine nursery in the governorate of Homs/Syria to evaluate the degree of grafting success between the two partners to create graft combinations in early stage of grafting and to select the most compatible rootstock for our local studied cultivars.

Three grapevines of local cultivars (Halawani, Baladi and Bayadi) were grafted on four different American rootstocks (Ru140, B41, Fercal and SO4) using bench grafting by omega machine.

Based on the results, grade of callus, healing %, average root numbers and rooting percentage were significantly affected by the rootstocks and the rootstocks had a greater effect than scion cultivars which were not affected significantly.

Callus formation was higher (3.361) in Ru140 and (3.243) in B41.

Healing percent was also higher when cultivars were grafted on Ru140 (88.52) and B41 (84.13).

The result indicated that a positive correlation between callus development and graft success (healing %).

Fercal and B41 rootstocks showed the highest rooting percent (63.43 and 52.04), respectively.

Also the highest average root number when compared with all studied rootstocks.

Moreover, shooting percent was significantly affected by the type scion without any significant effect of the rootstock.

The Highest shooting percent was in Bayadi (20.22%) and Halawani (14.17%) and the lowest one was obtained by Baladi and Bayadi which demonstrated the highest compatibility with Ru140 (91.67) for Baladi and (87.78) for Bayadi, respectively.
