society service considered the most important duty of University in recent days due to its sphere which allows democratic practicing and participating in ideas and actions.

The university offers educational services and practical researches, it uses its resources to help social organizations to solve their problems and making the overall development.

As the university is a part of society, so, it's progress will reflect on society in which university lives and offers suggestions and alternatives for more pedological thought.

This research studied the role of Iraqi universities in development of individual and society by connecting the researches with production and services sectors.

Research studied also the importance, reasons and fields of society service.

The historical review of Engineering college - Baghdad university and it's departments role in society service are studied as well.

At the end of research there are many conclusions like: the universities have to work with the local society by consultation bureaus, conferences and symposiums to make the development and preparing the suitable human resources for required development.
