The purpose of the study was to identify the relationship between the future anxiety and the level of ambition among a sample of doctoral students, as well as to identify the differences in future anxiety and the level of ambition according to tow variables: the Type of study system (Classic, LMD) and the number of registrations in the doctorate.

We have applied two measures on a sample of 55 students from the University of Laghouat, the first concerns the future anxiety built by the researchers, and the second measures the level of ambition built by Camelia Abdul Fattah (1975), the descriptive approach has been used, and the study reached the following results: There is a positive correlation between future anxiety and the level of ambition among a sample of doctoral students.

There is a high level in both the anxiety of the future and the level of ambition in the study sample There are no differences in the anxiety of the future and the level of ambition attributed to the type of study system (Classic, LMD) and the number of registrations in the doctorate.
