The goal of this study is to identify Arabic historical play and the way it dealt with the expedition of Holako to Baghdad (656H/ 1258AD).

the play that uses history as the main source form a new attempt to rebuild the life of one historical character or a historical era or part of it and representing it theatrically.

in this paper the researcher studied the way the historical Arabic play of this expedition through the intentional choosing of two Arabic scripts written by, Saad-Allah Wannous, and Soltan al-Kasimi .

this study will be beneficial for researchers, directors, authors and critics as well as theater academic institutions.
