علاقة بعض المتغيرات الاجتماعية بمعايير اختيار شريك الحياة بنظر الشباب الأردني : دراسة اجتماعية على عينة من طلبة جامعة اليرموك

This study was conducted in order to understand the most important life partner selecting criteria among Jordanian youth, and to state its relationship with some social variables such as : sex, family income, place of residence and the type of college.

For this purpose, a questionnaire was designed.

A Stratified purposive sample of (376) students from Yarmouk University was selected.

The finding indicated the most prominent and the most important selection criteria of life partner preferred by youth was : emotional tendencies , beauty ,and attractiveness of the partner, followed by religiosity and morality of a partner, the social and cultural situation criteria, and then the economic situation and wealth criteria.

The finding also indicated that there is no statistically significant differences in selection criteria of life partner according to the following variables: place of residence, monthly household income ,and type of college.The results also revealed that there is statistically significant differences in selection criteria of life partner according to sex relation with economic situation and the differences in favor of females ,and there is an agreement between both sexes on the rest of the criteria.
