School performance is one of the general activities of school ; it is considered as a tool for teaching the Arabic language and an accurate measure of the level of the students.

many of the lessons of literature and reading topics are suitable to be performed.

this would increase students‟ understanding ; therefore, it is possible to ask some students to convert a story to a dialogue with some personal additions.

for that reason, this paper treats the importance of teaching the play for learners and the bases of its selection, in addtition to its teaching reality.
