The subject of the research revolves around clarifying the impact of forging (smithing) gold.

Since forging jewelries from gold transforms it from a raw material to a manufactured material used for accessorizing, the question is: does gold remain in its monetary origin - a form of money that can undergo “Reba” (and hence becomes forbidden when traded in excess and requires similarity in amount and hand to hand trading)- or does it transform through smithing and becomes a commodity; and does not remain a form of money, and thus it is removed from its “Riba” origin? I mentioned muslim scholars’ findings on this matter and showed the most correct findings in accordance with evidence mentioned in quranic and hadith texts.The research also shows the forms of selling and exchanging gold with gold, whether new or used, or with two different calibers, or with two gold pieces added to one another, as in the making of beads.

The researcher clarified the statements of muslim scholars, the evidence they mentioned, thoroughly discussed them and weighed between them; and then explained the legitimate forms of selling and exchanging gold in the present era , in accordance with the texts and rules of Islamic law.
