The study seeks to indicate the conceptual frame of terrorist thoughts.

It shows methodological protective measures and remedial methods for combating terrorist thoughts according to the Islamic education approach.

For achieving the study objective, the researcher follows the descriptive approach that is based on examination and analysis.

This approach examines the issues of terrorist thoughts by exploring and analyzing concepts, types, and individual and social effects of such thoughts.

The deductive approach is also employed in this research for exploring the Islamic education approach represented by protective measures and remedial methods.

The study includes three researches.

The first research presents the conceptual frame of terrorist thoughts.

The second one describes the methodological protective measures for preventing terrorist thoughts according to Islamic education approach.

The third and last research highlights remedial methods for combating terrorist thoughts in the light of Islamic education approach.

The study presents some findings.

The most important ones are as follow: ■ The terrorist thoughts refer to the integrated structure including both theoretical and practical aspects.

This set reflects terrorist concepts, values, and fundamentals constituting the thoughts and behaviors of terrorist organizations and groups.

The terrorist thoughts can negatively affect beliefs, actions, or behaviors.

■ The terrorist thoughts seek to unsettle and distort Muslim belief and ideologies through suspicions that raise doubts and promote deviant behaviors that have harmful impacts on society.

■ The protective measures for combating terrorist thoughts include the preparation of Muslim integrated personality and exhibition of Muslim identity.

The framing of intellectual and behavioral structure for both individual and society and developing constructive social behavior are also among these protective measures.

■ The framing of intellectual and behavioral structure of individual and society according to an educational vision offers effective contributions for fighting terrorist thoughts.

This can be realized by preparing the practical activities (practices) of Islamic education approach on Islamic ethics and morals.

Accordingly, behavioral balance and strong relationship between individual and society can be achieved.

The Muslim’s behaviors will be constructive by avoiding any negative thoughts (such as terrorism).

Finally, an intellectual attitude that is away from extremism, radicalism, and negativism can be formed.

■ The virtuous behavioral construction and social relationships organization can purify society from all appearances of deviation and dissolution.

They also root values of social mutualism and cooperation, promote order values for organizing human activity, and remedy social diseases which include the most dangerous one; terrorism.

■ The remedial methods employed for fighting terrorism thoughts include promotion of virtue and prevention of vice, contribution to social problems solving, and presentation of intellectual and behavioral Islamic alternatives.

■ The educational role of promotion of virtue and prevention of vice can be effective in treating terrorism phenomenon and combating the corrupt thoughts and beliefs.

This role can assist in reforming vice appearances and strengthening social relationships.

The corrections of false thoughts conflicting with the benevolent Islamic belief is a positive aspect of this role.

■ The method of social problems solving according to the educational perspective can assist in solving a big part of terrorism problem.

Poverty, unemployment, moral deviation, and intellectual extremism are social problems that highly contribute to terrorist thoughts dissemination.

Such thoughts turn into real practices leading to devastation and criminality.

■ Presentation of thoughts and behaviors through an Islamic vision links the Muslim with his Islamic approach.

Subsequently, he can be protected against any deviant or terrorist thoughts conflicting with Islamic belief.

He can also participate in such thoughts combating.

The researcher presents some recommendations as under: ■ The educational institutions should play its effective role for demonstrating terrorism dangers affecting individual and society, and eliminating factors leading to terrorism.

■ Field studies for measuring the tangible impacts of terrorist thoughts should be performed.

■ Peer- reviewed scientific studies should be made in accordance with Islamic approach for showing the educational Islamic visions guiding the educational institutions (family, mosque, school, media, clubs, centers, and etc.).
