Goat husbandry projects are widespread activities carried out in the Governorate of Swaida.

However, the main objective of this research is to evaluate the economic aspect of these projects with a view to identifying the efficient use of the resources available to them.

The research was carried out in the Governorate of Swaida in Syria in 2016.

Preliminary data was collected from a random sample comprising 116 respondents by means of a questionnaire which involved personal interviews with goat breeders.

The research was based on descriptive statistical analysis and some quantitative indicators for economic evaluation.

The evaluation involved three production holdings based on the size of the herd.

The results showed that the third holding was economically superior with a production capacity between 43 and 200 heads, with an operational ratio of 0.

It is also important to maintain vegetation and permanently monitor feed needs and State intervention to control prices and prevent trade monopoly, including the development of rural industries for livestock products and the promotion of agricultural manufacturing facilities in production areas.
