This article attempts to examine the interrelationship between security and development, as one of the most prominent topics of political economy, A number of variables have helped to reinforce the relationship between them, as a result of inter alia, the evolution of the concepts of security and development and their departure from the traditional physical framework to other human aspects.

The study also attempted to analyze the situation in Syria, and the impact of insecurity in it since 2011 on economic and social conditions and human development rates.
