Manuscripts are considered as the most important witness on the scientific and intellectual movement around the world, because They reflect the interest of those involved in this science, and its consolidation and codification to get benefits.

Their purpose in this is not the self-desire to acquire knowledge, but rather to bring it closer to the other and to make ensure that it is transmitted to the future generations.

In fact, researchers have devoted their lives serving this science.

One of the most prominent figures of the West of Algeria, who left a considerable fingerprint in this field is Sheikh Ahmad bin Mustafa Al-Alawi - may Allah have mercy on him - the owner of the famous khizana (traditional library) in Mostaganem.

This Khizana, which attracts many visitors, consists of many manuscripts in various topics, most of them in Sufism and jurisprudence, some of which are written by Sheikh al-Alawi himself while others are written by other copyists, in addition to some printed books.

This work is an attempt to catalog the manuscripts of this Khizana, and because of its important number, which is estimated at 112, the study is limited to the manuscripts by the authors of the of Al-Zawiya Alawiya.

The study examines the physical state of these manuscripts, their technical features and the different topics they dealt with.
