Syntax and sematic juxtaposition is identified، analyzed، and distinguished in “al-Manam al-Kabir” by “Alwahrani 575 A.H” in an effort conducted to apply modern criticism theories on classical Arabic narrative.

The attempt sets the narrative style on the world’s creativity map، due to its fantasies، imagery unbound، boldness in criticizing self and other، similarity with “Surreal Humor”، among many other stylistic techniques.

This piece of literature has been labeled profane as it talks about the day of judgment in the most sarcastic of manners using knowledge from the Holy Quran to from the setting.

As portrayed in “al-Manam” the protagonist refuses to respect the situation، nor abide by what he is told to do by the Angeles، thus creating a quandary to all recipients، and pushing them to read between the lines for social and political corruption.
