الملخص EN

The aim of this study was to identify the role of the educational supervisor in the development of Arabic language teachers' competencies at the secondary schools in Omdurman, Southern rural sector.

The study used the descriptive method.

The questionnaire was used as a tool for collecting data from (18 teachers) selected from the research community.

The results showed that: The role of the educational supervisor was highly appreciated in the development of the planning, performance and exceeding the scientific competencies of the teachers of the Arabic language in the secondary schools in Omdurman.

The results also showed a statistically significant correlation between the competency axes and the total score of the questionnaire.

There were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance 0.05) between the average responses of the research sample to the role of the educational supervisor in the development of competencies of teachers of the Arabic language attributed to the variables: type, qualification, and years of experience.

Based on the results, the researchers recommend the following: Encouraging educational supervisors to use the democratic supervision style, Improving salaries and creating the right environment for work for supervisors, Preparing training courses for the developing of educational supervisors before practicing the work.
