The objective of the research is to identify the nature of sustainability accounting and its role in enhancing the quality of accounting information in a sample of Iraqi industrial companies listed in the Iraqi Stock Exchange (Baghdad for soft drinks, Baghdad for the manufacture of packaging materials, Iraqi Carton Industry, For the financial period (2013-2017).

The expenditures of these companies were based on the elements of sustainability accounting (social and environmental) disclosed in the final financial reports, and the ROA was used to measure the .quality of the accounting information The main findings of the research are that the importance of the social and environmental sustainability accounting components is important in determining the extent to which the industrial companies comply with their responsibilities towards the society, in addition to enhancing the accuracy of the accounting information provided to .the external parties The most important recommendation is the need to increase attention to social and environmental elements and increase the company's dissemination of the culture of environmental protection and strengthen social ties between the employees of the company and customers.
