This study is about the genre of the novel in the Arab world in a perspective of its impact by the Western novel.

We compared them in terms of concept and technical characteristics, distinguishing their similarities from the differences.

We defined the novel and its concept both in Arabic and in the West and the limits of the overlap between the two concepts, as well as the emergence of the Arab novel and the influence of the Western novel.

Then we made the comparison according to the dimensions of the symmetry and the paradoxes.

Then came the conclusion with some observations.
