The problem of identity is one of the problems that have become a source of concern for researchers and those who maintain it, because of the different visions and the multiplicity of viewpoints.

In this paper we try to identify the type of conflict that took place around the national identity in Algeria during the French colonization, in order to identify the most important speeches that prevailed during that period, especially those that took place between the mainstream integration represented by the personality of the young Farhat Abbas and the reformist movement, The first is a proponent of a negative view of the history of the Algerian homeland, while the second represents a strong reaction to prove the originality and originality of this society.
