Initiation is an important element of narrative textual thresholds, because it works to show the vision of the narrator, and then withdraws the consciousness of the recipient and his thinking to the other layers of meaning in the story.this issue was characterized by its diversity in the stories of subhi fahmawi; in his five volumes of short stories:( sad season of harvest , a man unable to consolidate , girls in the twenties , the mummy man, hot pepper (the thesis is divided into an introduction and four research chapters:,the introduction studies: the concept of storytelling ,chapter one deals with: narrative initiation, chapter two: concerns dialogue initiation ,chapter three: studies descriptive initiation ,chapter four deals with : scenery initiation.
