الملخص EN

This study aims to define the most important internal and external threats confronting the Algerian cultural and social national security, as well as their impact on civil society’s development, the promotion of democracy and the unity of identity and culture.

The study focuses, first of all, on the internal threats by analyzing the crisis of identity elements in the Algerian political project and how this crisis affects the cultural and social national security.

The effects of immigration as a security question will be dealt with in later sections.

The study aims also to understand the impact of the dominant power i.e.

the USA and the European Union’s actions and strategies in their cultural dimensions, as external threats confronting the Algerian cultural and social national security.

Through the application of EU’s policies on “Justice and Interior Affairs”, that aims at shaping “The Mediterranean Identity”, as well as the increasing impact of the dominant power after the 11 September’s events, especially, the cultural globalization effects and the influence of occidental values.

Finally, we will try to define the policies that might help Algeria to build its cultural and social security in this variable word.
