Political Science is one of the most controversial fields in terms of the multiplicity of schools, trends and objectives, so that some of the particularities of political science are : overlapping, intertwining and the infinite interpretations of the political phenomenon and the related facts.

This overlap and complexity in the interpretation of the political phenomenon was associated with other disciplines.

The International Relations field of study and the huge number of theories had had implications within Western political thought, especially following the Conference of Westphalia 1648.

Th new sets and foundations of international policy, most importantly the respect for the sovereignty of States.

Later historical events coincided with scientific, intellectual and economic developments followed by the emergence of the industrial revolution and by the technological revolutions with all its life implications, which led to the establishment of a more complex and overlapping political system as compared to the inter-war world.

The stakes were growing at the dawn of the digital revolution and its aspirations for the comprehensive transformation of international political relations after the Cold War.
