The 9-11 events put a sudden end to the post-cold war era, and most scholars agree that those events have drawn the new phase of International Relations and International Security, and were an important turning point in the evolution of the International Security Studies field, confirming the recent security issues due to the emerging threats.

This article addresses how the US Administration exploited the War on Terrorism discourse in order to embody its strategy of unilateral global governance, based on power and domination, and supported by the logic of Securitization to legitimize the shift towards a more hierarchical international community.

Therefore we will try to achieve two objectives: The first is to address the idea of ‘‘Macrosecuritisation’’ recently launched by Barry Buzan in his study in 2006, and which is considered as a negative concept by the Copenhagen School.

The second is to focus on the War on Terrorism led by ‘‘the Bush Administration’’, which faced a strong opposition despite the support it has received in the beginning, particularly when it comes about the nature of tasks which the war on terrorism macrosecuritisation has legitimized.
