The aim of the research is to find out the effect of learning based on the use of mastery learning in the cognitive achievement of physics for the 11th grade students ,compared to the impact of the lecture method adopted before the experiment In this study, the researcher used the experimental method based on the design of the program and its application to the experimental and control groups.

The study sample consisted of 32 students in the 11th grade, with 16 students in the control group and 16 students in the experimental group ,the training group was taught using the learning strategy of mastery and control group using the lecture method.

After the completion of the experiment, the researcher conducted collection test and after verifying his sincerity and stability, the level of difficulty and the strength of discrimination for his paragraphs and the use of the appropriate statistical means to analyze the results, the research reached the following: The use of cognitive learning raised the level of cognitive achievement of the students of the experimental group relative to the control group.

As a result, the researcher recommended the application of technical learning to the other stages of the physics subject while providing the time necessary to take into consideration the individual differences of students
