Self-disclosure is an important part of human personality and the basis for guiding human behaviour in individuals, which depends mainly on the social experiences and conflicts experienced by people, and it also concerns whether the disclosure is positive where individuals are confident of their abilities and ideas, or negative disclosure where they are reluctant in their actions and attitudes.

Moreover, this determines the process of social interaction in personal relationships such as love and friendship.

Social anxiety is a type of anxiety that indicates discomfort of an individual when they are among people.

It shows how strangers’ talks, looks, and even a social relation with them scare them away.

Some psychologists believe that this kind of anxiety can sometimes lead to a bad psychological effect on the individual rather than being a factor of their compatibility.

Therefore, the current study aims at the followings: 1.

Identify the level of self-disclosure among students of the University of Sulaymaniyah.

2.

Identify the level of self-disclosure among students of the University of Sulaymaniyah depending on their gender (male and female).

3.

Recognising the level of social anxiety among students of the University of Sulaymaniyah.

4.

Identifying the level of social anxiety among the students of the University of Sulaymaniyah depending on their gender (male and female).

5.

Identify the relation between self-disclosure and social anxiety among the students of the University of Sulaymaniyah.

In order to achieve the aims of the current study, the researcher has adopted the self-disclosure scale prepared by (Dabbagh 2013, الذباغ 3102), which was finalized in (27) points, as well as the adoption of the measure of social anxiety prepared by (Hijazi 2013, حجاصي 3102 ), and was finalized after completing the conditions of honesty Stability and ability to distinguish from (23) points.

In order to meet the objectives of the research, the researcher applied the measurements on a sample of students of the University of Sulaymaniyah (which consist of 300 students), and then the data was analyzed using the statistical bag for social sciences (SPSS).

The results of the study among the students of the University of Sulaymaniyah are as follows: 1.

The self-disclosure is high and significant.

2.

The level of social anxiety is low.

3.

There is an inverse relationship between self-disclosure and social anxiety among students at Sulaymaniyah University.

In the light of the discussion of the current study results, the researcher presented a set of recommendations to the concerned authorities.
