The study aimed to identify the statistical methods that are most commonly used by researchers in the College of Education, at Umm Al-Qura University.

It also designed to detect the differences between the appropriate use of parametric and non-parametric statistical methods in light of the measurement levels according to the different level of research (Master / Doctorate), and the various departments: (Department of Psychology, Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods, and Department of Educational Administration and Planning) in the College of Education at Umm Al-Qura University, as well as to discuss the alternative solutions of the statistical methods used in the Masters and Doctoral theses submitted to the College of Education at Umm Al-Qura University.

The Study population consisted of all the Masters and Doctoral theses submitted to the college of Education at Umm Al-Qura University, in the following departments: (Department of Psychology, Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods, and Department of Educational Administration and Planning) from 1432H to 1437H, which were discussed during this period, and numbered (944) theses.

The sample of the study consisted of (283) Masters and Doctoral theses at Umm Al-Qura University, in the College of Education in the Departments of (Psychology, Educational Administration and Planning, and Curricula and Teaching Methods), and it was selected by using the stratified random relative method.

The study was based on the descriptive evaluative approach.

To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher designed an evaluative questionnaire for the parametric and non-parametric statistical methods in light of the objectives of the study.

The results of the study showed that the parametric statistical methods that are most commonly used in Masters and Doctoral theses are (t- test) with (24.6%) and mono-variance analysis test with (18.5%), while the non-parametric statistical methods that are most commonly used in Masters and Doctoral Thesis are (Chi-square test) with (5.4%) and Mann- Whitney - U test with (3.8%) of the total percentage of statistical tests that are used.

They also showed that there are statistically significant differences of 0.01 in the appropriate parametric and non-parametric statistical methods between Masters and Doctoral theses (study sample) at Umm Al-Qura University in favor of doctoral theses.

There are statistically significant differences at 0.01 in the appropriate parametric and non-parametric statistical methods according to the department of study (Department of Psychology, Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods, and Department of Educational Administration and Planning), in favor of the Department of Curricula and Educational Methods (study sample).

Based on these previous results the study recommends with prioritizing teaching the statistical subject especially the curriculums of the Parametric and Non-Parametric inferential statistic for the master student, plus pending the authorizing process for the thesis submitted to (The College of Education, at Umm Al-Qura University )until getting it approved by the statistical unit of the college first, and providing the researchers with specialized training courses for the various data analysis programs such as (SPSS,AMOS,LISREL).
