Over the past few years, Metacognitive thinking has gained considerable attention in the past years because of its importance in improving the way learners think.

It increases learners' awareness of what they are studying.

Is a thinker, a planner and a critic, an observer of progress, supported by a specific idea and directed to a particular course.

He organizes the steps of the solution, sets out multiple options and evaluates each one, chooses what he sees best, and thus becomes a productive thinker.

cognitive flexibility is one of the unique characteristics of thinking, To change the meaning or interpretation, use or understanding of the issue or strategy of action or change in the direction of thinking to lead to find a suitable solution to the terms of the issue of the subject of thinking: 1- Metacognitive Thinking of students of the College of Basic Education.

2- Significance of differences in the level of Metacognitive Thinking of students of the College of Basic Education according to gender variables (male, female) and specialization (scientific, human).

3- Cognitive flexibility of students of the College of Basic Education.

4- Significance of differences in the degree of cognitive flexibility among students of the Collge of Basic Education according to gender variables (male, female) and specialization (scientific, human).

5- The relationship between Metacognitive Thinking and cognitive flexibility of students of the College of Basic Education.

In order to achieve the research objectives, the researcher adopted the Metacognitive Thinking scale (Oneil & Abedi, 1996) and the cognitive flexibility scale (Abdel Wahab, 2011).

After the extraction of the cytometric characteristics of the two measurements, the two measures were applied to the sample of ( 200) students, Appropriate statistical means The results showed the following: - Students of the College of Basic Education enjoy a Metacognitive Thinking.

-There are statistically significant differences in Metacognitive Thinking according to type variable (male, female) and male sample, according to the variable of specialization (scientific, human) for the sample of scientific specialization.

The research sample enjoys the cognitive flexibility.- -There are statistically significant differences in the cognitive flexibility according to gender variable (male, female) for the male sample, according to the specialization variable (scientific, human) for the sample of the scientific specialization.

There is a positive correlation between Metacognitive Thinking and cognitive flexibility.- The researcher came out with some recommendations and suggestions
