The religious reform movement in the sixteenth century is one of the most important religious events in the history of Christianity, which aimed at correcting the imbalances and defects that the Christian community experienced as a result of the perceptions of the Catholic Church and its treatment of European reality.

And led to the division of the Western Catholic world into two opposing sections, the creation of a new Christian doctrine and new religious organizations known as Protestantism, which wanted to rephrase the concepts of the Church and its institutions.

The period of religious reform was a pivotal period in the history of the world.

It transformed Europe spiritually and intellectually and shattered the prevailing religious unity.

New forms of religious life emerged as the old forms began to gain new strength when they began when the Catholic Church began to reform itself.

Protestantism remained alive throughout Europe but did not prevail in Spain against the reformist ideas contrary to the Catholic Church, and on this basis, this study contributes to shed light on the attempts of religious reform in Spain, the factors of their occurrence, the reasons for their failure and their impact on the events.

The research discusses an important stage in the religious history of Spain, which is the first attempts at religious reform in the Spanish Kingdom, and then addressed the platforms of the spread of the Lutheranism in Spain, the policy of suppressing and eradicating the Protestant and its impact on the future of the Spanish nation as well as studying the methods and practices of the Spanish Inquisition.
