Trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants are both serious crimes and have attracted a growing attention at both international and national levels, due to the serious development of means and methods in committing these two types of crimes .

At the international level, the U.N has adopte the convention against transnational organized crime and its two additional protocols.

At the national level , the algerian legislator has enacted two laws :the08 / 11 act which criminalizes any illegal entry to ,residence or movement of foreigners in algeria, and the 09 / 01 amended criminal act which criminaliyes both human trafficking and migrant smuggling.
