In recent years, Algeria has known an unprecedented presence of women in the elected councils in their local and state levels as a result of the will of the higher authorities in this field, which has been issued according to Article 31 of the amended Constitution on 15th November, 2008 and then explained how this trend was reflected in the organic law 03 / 12 of 12 January 2012, but this "development" resulted a wide debate between all the spectrum and drew certain images of women in the political field in general to the elites, the elected and the citizens .

Since the local electoral council has the most active and close to deal with women political, it’s better to know what are representatives, the perceptions, the quality of views, ideas and the features of the image that formed them, especially the elected woman by the People's Assembly State, and here we highlight the goal of our study which is focusedon know the nature of mental image that characterized the local direction Women elected through a sample of the People's Assembly members of Laghouat .
