The purpose of this research is to identify the differences in the critical thinking among the students of the scientific section and the students of the literature section in the secondary school in the city of Gabla in Latakia.

Their number was (2433) students.

The sample of the study, which had been randomly selected, included (332) students from both the scientific and the literature sections equally.

The research was conducted during the second semester of the school year 2008/2009.

The researcher used Watson & Glasser Critical Thinking Test.

The results of the research showed that there were differences, statistically significant, at the significance level of (0.05) in the critical thinking and in the following skills (Inference, Assumption, Interpretation).

These differences were in favor of the scientific educational specialization.

There were also differences, statistically significant,(at level 0.05) in the critical thinking and in the following skills (Argument Evaluation, Interpretation, Deduction).

These differences were in favor of the second secondary scientific class.
