The topic of occupational health and work safety has taken a huge importance in last few years, as a result of human element interest, this study aimed to solve this issue, by adopting many concepts in work environment, work accident, occupational diseases, also occupational health and safety system concept, to define their role in securing the work environment, in addition to that describe the relationship between the study variables.

This study aimed also to identify the role of occupational health and safety system in securing the work environment on Skikda port, it was based on the result of a field study which has been prepared on Skikda port institution, a questionnaire was designed to collect the data information, then to verify the study hypotheses, an appropriate statistical methods has been used to analyze and explain the results.

The research results showed that there is a significant statistic relationship between occupational health and safety system, to secure the work environment in Skikda port institution, as it has a significant and important role in decreasing the work accident and occupational diseases on the work environment and keeping the workers safe and healthy.
