The aim of this study was to identify the extent to which reading comprehension skills and their relation to solving mathematical problems among students in the lower elementary stage in Jordanian schools affected the teachers' point of view.

The aim was to find out whether the variables (gender, educational qualification, place of residence, years of experience) The study dealt with four dimensions of the importance of understanding mathematical issues: teaching methods, content, evaluation, presentation.

To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher designed a questionnaire containing (20) paragraphs on the basis of the five-dimensional Likert scale and distributed this questionnaire to a sample of (130) teachers and teachers of the lower elementary stage in Jordanian schools.

The most important recommendations recommended by the researcher in the light of the objectives of the study, to be the educational material closer to the reality for students, and enrich the educational material commensurate with the capabilities of students, and audit the curriculum and make it suitable for the age of students.
