The present research dealt with a controversial syntactic issue, namely, the foregrounding of the excepted before the excepted from, in which cases and opinions are diverged regarding this matter.

This research is divided into three parts and cases for foregrounding the excepted and each case has its grammatical judgment, and in each case there is an opinion of the grammarians between prevention and permit.

The first case: the excepted and the exception particle is foregrounded before the excepted from.

This case is one of the issues of disagreement among the Basrians and the Kufis, in which the Kufis allowed it based on measurement, while the Basrians prevented it relying on various evidences and refuted the evidences of the Kufis.

The second case: the excepted is foregrounded before the excepted from and the agent.

In this case, the grammarians differed on three opinions.

Some of them allowed it, others prevented it and the third party allowed it provided that the agent is derived and not fixed.

The research reviewed these opinions along with the evidences.

The third case: the excepted is foregrounded before the excepted from alone and it is one of the cases that are unanimously agreed on by the grammarians.

The research is based on a number of sources and grammatical references, old and recent, as well as books of grammatical differences
