Achieving sustainable development requires unifying the public and private sectors as well as civil organizations, researchers, and those who are concerned with development, ahead of all these institutions come statistical systems departments which are concerned with collecting, classifying, and disseminating high quality and highly accurate data about the development affairs, the development of the economical movement, population rates, and others.

In the past few years significant efforts have been made in the statistical development field, and its f developing the statistics development and its indicators in Iraq as in developing the statistical system in the country to include indicators of sustainable development and classification according to gender.

The results issued by Central Organization for Statistics and Information Technology in Iraq have impacted in cooperation with international organizations solving various issues, and impacting statistical economical, and social analysis upon the sustainable development, and increased the scientific researches in the universities and research institutions towards the direction of adoption sustainable development topics.

The research attempts to evaluate the sustainability of development in Iraq for (2004-2014) according to several criteria in order to recognize its compliance with the international criteria in the field of statistics and provide a comprehensive image of sustainable development in Iraq.

The researcher has reached a number of conclusions such as :- the statistics do not cover long-time series due to the decrease of the statistical work during the years of economic sanctions on Iraq.
