L’enseignement-apprentissage de FLE dans le Sud Algérien : défis et perspectives

For a long time, the teaching of French as a foreign language lacks institutional status worthy of social uniformity, hence the emergence of permanent hostility towards FLE in the majority of the national territory and particularly in the southern region.

The latter represents a marginalized cultural and identity specificity and which, unfortunately, does not benefit from a specific and adequate teaching program, otherwise the teaching of French remains a victim of a conflicted and problematic situation.

The interest in foreign languages in an era of globalization, in a century of conflicts and dialogues between cultures and civilizations, is of primary necessity.

However, the didactics of French as a foreign language, at the confluence of programs, approaches and methods of various origins, has not touched, until now, the aim of teaching namely the implementation of FLE to meet the needs of economic, political, cultural and social circumstances.

Indeed, the need is to encourage and optimize the teaching of foreign languages whose performance is still insufficient.

The French-speaking elite of political power, by imposing its point of view vis-àvis the teaching of French, considering it on the educational practice sometimes as second language sometimes foreign language, contributes to the creation of a conceptual conflict which one continues to suffer the consequences.

However, until now the vagueness reigns and hampers the possibility of finding an effective and definitive solution to the teaching of French in the South.
