Peace and non-violence can't be prevailed due to the conclusion of conventions or treaties or even to the enactment of legislation and laws, but it is fundamentally linked to the dissemination and adoption of a new culture of peace, which is based on the values of understanding and tolerance, acceptance of differences, respect for human dignity and non-reliance on violence to solve a problem of any kind.

Thus, there have been calls for the need of reform in all aspects of social life in order to educate individuals on the values and concepts of peace, including in particular the reform in education tin order to create an educational environment which aims at creating generation of children and youth capable of coexisting on the basis of common principles of peace, human rights and democracy.

The inclusion of education for peace in the basic education stage is a human necessity and an ethical imperative for the upbringing of children to activate peaceful practices in their daily lives since their youth, and to provide them with the necessary skills to resolve conflicts in a variety of effective ways.
