The concept of sustainable development constitutes a great importance among researchers, thinkers and decision-makers in all countries, who strive more to define its dimensions, and areas it covers as well as to consider approaches and mechanism that allow it to work as one body inside societies for different economic purposes, industrial, health and to some extent cultural life which is the main focus of this study.

The issue of sustainable development from the cultural perspective is crucially considered as deep and complex which is in turn quite hard for us to know full well or to summarize it in one unique study.

The whole purpose of this investigation is to shed light on the concept of “third space libraries” and to some extent to deal with this new model of public library namely third space and to try to make it closer to Arab communities as well as to highlight the efforts and the experiences of these countries in order to make culture as basic building block for sustainable development, in addition to that the enormous spread of the public libraries in this region and to know the extent in which it might impact on the issue of sustainability especially with the emergence of Green library and the ecological dimension, and to seek for its contributions in order to serve the goals of sustainable development in long run.
