Psychological trauma in the diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders, fifth edition, dementions and limits Summary : Diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders is considered to be one of the most useful and recent tools in the field of diagnostic of different mental disorders, including trauma stressors and related disorders.

In the last edition(DSM5, 2013), all manifestations of traumatism have been classified under one axis, and this is because of the important number of scientific studies in the field of trauma and stress, and the prevalence of the disorder among both sex and in all ages.

The DSM5 is an important classification on an international level, it is asumed to be an atheoritical tool which gives an accurate and objective difinition to posttraumatic stress disorder.

Through this article we try to discuss some of the dimensions and limits related to this manual in the study and comprehension of traumatism.
