The objective of this study is to highlight the role of the government and its impact on enhancing the competitiveness of the industry in general and the pharmaceutical industry in particular way.

The rough the study of the Indian experience,, relying on the descriptive and analytical approach to the definition of the theoretical framework, of competitiveness and the supporting governmental role .the study concluded that the repercussions of the government role through both the competitive industrial policy and the national drug policy were positive and led to the development of the Indian pharmaceutical industry and even made it compete with the leading countries in this field
