The study concentrated on the demographic characteristics of the visitors of Ha'il Rally in its first three years 2006-2008.

It is also meant to determine the demographic, social, economic, and behavioral characteristics of the visitors to the Rally alongside corresponding festivals in the "challenge of the big Nofoud" for the last three years.

The study was conducted during the events using field survey methods.

Data were gathered using a questionnaire designed for this purpose.

The study demonstrated that 93 X of the respondents were Saudi citizens.

It is also found that 81.4X of respondents were men.

Regarding the regional backgrounds of the visitors, the study revealed that the visitors came from all regions of the Kingdome, except of Najran, and that the highest percentage of the visitors was recorded for those who came from Qaseem and Riyadh totaling 21.7 X.

As for the marital status of the visitors at the rally, the survey determined that about 50X of the visitors were married.

Despite the male-nature of the festival considering that half of those surveyed were unwedded individuals, 49.3X of male visitors accompanied their families to the events.

Asking surveyed individuals whether they would re-visit the rally the following year 95.5X responded positively while 96.3X stated they would recommend it to their families and associates.

The study concluded with a number of recommendations such as developing the infrastructure of the rally, that the events be held during the mid-year vacation, and that more care be provided.

Other recommendations were the holding of seminars, workshops and conferences to promote tourism to the region and that some additional activities be incorporated such as folkloric bands from around the Kingdom and friendly Arab and Islamic countries in order to promote communication and strengthen the bonds between local citizens and concerned expatriates living and working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
