This study aims at determining the nature of the causal link between the parallel economy and public resources in the Algerian economy over the period (1990-2018) through annual data analysis using the methodology of Granger causality test in three phases, namely the unit root test using Dickie fuller Enlarged, testing long term equilibrium between two strings using Johansen test, and Granger causality in the short term.

The results of the tests showed the absence of a common integration between the size of the parallel economy and public resources, and there are no long term balancing relationship between the two variables of the study, so that the causal link was towards the size of the parallel economy into the public resources in the short term.
