The terrorist Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) after controlling some territories in both countries, Syria and Iraq, recruited many children of different ages, whether voluntarily or through coercion, with the aim of involving them in hostilities and other acts related to fighting .They were assigned different roles, exploiting their weakness and innocence .International humanitarian law, customary international humanitarian law and international human rights law prohibit the recruitment and use of children in armed conflicts.

The recruitment of children under the age of 15 and their effective involvement in military operations under the Statute of the International Criminal Court are a form of war crimes within the jurisdiction of the Court.

The United Nations Security Council issued several resolutions reaffirming the prohibition and condemnation of the recruitment of children and stressed the responsibility of the groups that carry out these acts, but the (ISIS) violated all these laws, customs, documents and international resolutions, which requires prosecution and punishment.
