This study sheds the light on some aspects of the impact of the economic structure on the social one in Morocco during the Middle Ages and especially during the Almohad and Mirinid era.

The study focuses on commercial activity, especially on the long-term trade in an attempt to keep track of its role in the commercial elite creation.

First, it shows the importance of this type of trade in the trading system during the middle ages.

Most of data collected from different rare sources shows that there is a connection between the professional trades’ people and the distant trade by virtue of the great profits they were making.

The research also founds that securing the trade roads and protecting the convoys by the state was due to the revenues that it had been receiving from this sector.

Therefore, the first priority for most of the regimes, which ruled the country over time, was to occupy the cities and the trade centers that were located in the important trade lines, which were the traders’ peoples’ home, in order to provide funds to complete the process of unification and ensure the conditions of development and continuity.

The availability of resources, in spite of its scarcity, allowed shedding some light on the issue in the last aspect of the research.

Al-Maqari House emerged as one of the houses that led the long-term trade in the commercial axis between the coast and the desert.

Thus, his family gathered the honor of knowledge and the profit of trade.
