In this study, we attempted to highlight the role of the electronic payment system in the development of new means of payment and its impact on the Algerian financial and banking system by studying the evolution of the activities of the ARTS system and the ATCI system during the period (2006-2017), Where we found that the electronic payment system in Algeria is still in its infancy and has not risen to the ranks of developed countries controlling this technology, as the payment methods used are still mostly traditional and the use of new means of payment is also limited in turn , The state should adopt the motivational strategy for the use of modern technology and dissemination to the various agents.
