The Japanese woman had an eminent role in the history of old, middle and modern Japan.

But this role and position have changed due to a number of factors, which led to a deterioration of the women position in the Japanese society.

This research will show what those factors are, and the reason which led the Japanese woman to come in second class after the man in social life.

This paper shows whether or not the Japanese women got their rights under the two most famous constitutions in the history of modern and current Japan 1889 and 1946.

And which one of the two constitutions gave the chance of equality to the Japanese woman with the man? Is it the Meiji constitution for 1889? Or the American occupation of Japan constitution for the year 1946?
