The vast and fast progress in food industry is run by institutions and systems that are not subjected to Islamic principles and values.

They are made of several ingredients without looking at ( whether they are halal or not in Islam.

This study tackles one of these industries, namely power drinks, which are consumed by a great deal of people in the Islamic world.

Muslims drink these drinks without knowing whether they are halal or not in Islam.

The Islamic judgments of these drinks are not known to previous Islamic scholars because they were not available in their times.

After contacting and consulting specialized people like nutrition scientists and chemists, there seem to be two factors that have to be taken into account: 1.

company owners of these drinks should warn people not to drink these drinks extensively, because they cause damage to the liver or some parts of the body.

They should also advise people specially those suffering from pressure, ^ diabetes and other diseases not to drink them at all.

These drinks cause harm to some ' people, even if they do not drink a lot, having affected their colon, stomach, etc.

Accordingly, power drinks can be seen as not halal for those who are ° harmed by drinking them, and they are s halal for those who are not affected by drinking them.

The study concludes that the components added to these power drinks 1 are halal provided that they are not taken from pigs or their bone and fat, because such components, in principle, are not halal for Muslims.

Those components that are taken from animals other than ^ pigs are halal.
