This Study examined the role of job satisfaction in improving the efficiency of employees’ performance in the University of Gezira; a public sector university.

It also aimed to explain the relationship between job satisfaction and the efficiency of employees’ performance through studying the impact of work environment and participation in decision taking on the employees’ satisfaction.

The study adopted the descriptive analytical method; whereas a questionnaire was used for data collection, and then analyzed through using Statistical Packages for Social Sciences Program (SPSS).The study results revealed the existence of a positive relationship between the work environment and the employees’ job satisfaction.

Moreover, the existence of a significant positive relationship between employees’ wages and incentives and their level of satisfaction.

Also, the study indicated that the rate of job satisfaction for employees’ increases and rises whenever their bosses allow them to participate in the formulation of policies, plans and decision-taking.

The study recommended the need to create a conducive environment for work to motivate the employees to do their job optimally; as well as increasing wages and incentives for the employees so that they can achieve their ambitions; thus, increasing the rate of their job performance.
